Get to know me
Fun facts
I love sparkling water, I wrote my first line of code at the age of eight, my favourite cuisine is Italian, and the German town of Zuffenhausen has a special place in my heart. I appreciate a good glass of Pinot Noir, I have driven from Nibe to Nice and back in a classic car, and Tarantino films do me good. I know a few magic tricks – but for some inexplicable reason I'm always unlucky at cards.

Me in a nutshell
Family man, data and AI nerd, road-tripper, amateur cook, and fond of a good glass of Pinot Noir.

My story
Ever since I was a boy, I've been fascinated by technology and the way it changes the world. I wrote my first line of code at eight, built websites while I was at school and sold my first website in 2004. Through upper secondary school I worked on the side with web development and web hosting.
But finance ran in the family. My father and grandfather ran an accounting firm, my mother worked at what was then Unibank (now Nordea), and it was always in the air that I would follow the same path. So I started at Ernst & Young as an audit trainee. I thought auditing meant giving businesses financial advice. What I took with me was an understanding of how businesses make their money, and why the numbers have to hold up.
It was in accounting that the two sides met. In a finance function with bookkeeping, budgets and monthly reporting, it suddenly dawned on me that there were SQL databases underneath the finance system, and that is when my interest in data really took off. I could see how much better reporting and decisions became when the numbers were complete and easy to understand. Alongside my audit training I took a graduate diploma in business (HD) at the Aarhus School of Business.
Then things moved fast. As a BI consultant I helped grow a consultancy from 30 to 120 people. At Bestseller I led the work of making concepts and KPIs mean the same thing across all 14 brand houses. I co-founded a consultancy in data and performance management, and as Head of BI at Whiteaway I built and led a team that brought more than 60 source systems together in one modern data platform.
Since then I have worked as an independent freelance consultant, and today I'm a Development Lead at Nykredit. I lead a team building the data foundation for mortgage financing, in a world with high demands for control and regulation.
Almost 20 years on, I'm still the boy fascinated by technology, but with an auditor's sense that the numbers have to hold up. That combination is what I build everything on: business first, then data and AI that work.
